Belfast Tech Week started in 2024 with a simple idea: create one week where the whole of Belfast's tech community could come together, get involved and showcase what it does best.
Rather than build another traditional conference behind a ticket or a pay-to-play model, Belfast Tech Week was created as an "unconference": a city-wide programme of independently organised events brought together under one shared banner.
The principle was simple from the beginning: anyone should be able to be part of it.
Startups, scaleups, global companies, universities, investors, community groups and individuals can host events, contribute ideas and bring their own audiences into the week. There is no requirement to become a sponsor to participate and no single organisation decides what the conversation should be.
That means Belfast Tech Week isn't one conference, in one venue, with one agenda. The city is the venue and the community creates the programme.
It gives us an opportunity to tell a much bigger story about Belfast's technology ecosystem, from emerging startups and indigenous success stories to international companies, world-class research and the people and communities making it all happen.

Questions
Who can attend?
Anyone. Students, career changers, engineers, designers, founders, funders and the merely curious. Most events are free and open to all.
Do I need a ticket for the week?
No. There is no festival pass. Each event manages its own registration, so follow the link on the event page.
Does my company have to sponsor to take part?
No. There is no requirement to become a sponsor to host or participate. Sponsorship supports the week, but the door is open to everyone.
Who decides what's on?
The community does. Hosts bring their own events and audiences, and the programme is built from the bottom up rather than set by any single organisation.
How do I get my event listed?
Submit it through the host form. Once it's approved it appears in the programme automatically.
